Walking in the Ecrins and beyond

There are many beautiful hikes in our region, ranging from half-day lake walks to the two-week GR54 Tour de Oisans. Much of the countryside is wild and untamed here, and you will often see more wildlife than other hikers. The lack of crowds is one of the reasons we love walking in the Ecrins. Deep valleys give access to the very heart of the national park where you can walk in the shadow of the high summits. A network of refuges and small village gîtes gives endless possibilities to create multi-day walks. Beyond the Écrins, we also travel across the wider French Alps, so we will include a few hikes from further afield in this list.
