Alpine Wildlife
The Alps are teeming with fascinating wildlife, so we’ve put together a guide to the Alpine animals you might see on a trek near Chamonix. Close-up encounters with ibex (like our one-horned friend in the photo) are not uncommon. We regularly see chamois, marmots, choughs and griffon vultures too, as well as occasional sightings of arctic foxes, eagles, snakes, ermine and other shyer residents.
Our blog pages have more articles on Alpine wildlife, as well as the fascinating wild flowers that put on such a stunning display when the snows melt each spring.
